I build and publish open language models from Lander, Wyoming, at the foot of the Wind River Range, and I take on consulting work built on the same expertise. I work remotely.
The path here
Before software I was a cinematographer, photographer, and graphic designer. It shows in how I build: I care how software feels to use, not just whether it works.
Since 2020 I've been the ecommerce director and lead developer for a specialty outdoor and fly-fishing retailer here in Lander: storefront development, catalog, merchandising, SEO, email lifecycle, and keeping inventory accurate between the store and the web. I also develop private-label products with CO2 and fiber lasers.
I've built with language models since GPT-3. That turned into research: merging, fine-tuning, and evaluating open models, then publishing all of it. Some of those releases have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, and I'm a Qwen Ambassador for Alibaba Cloud's Qwen team.
